Communication
Back to School Night
Back to School Night is a fall event for all parents. It gives parents the opportunity to meet their child’s teacher, see the classroom, and learn what is expected of your child (e.g., homework and supplies) and how you can help meet these expectations at home. Parents have the opportunity to ask general questions. This is not a time to discuss your child's individual progress. This event is for parents only – please plan ahead for a sitter.
Report Cards
Students will receive three report cards during the school year. The purpose of the report card is to inform you of your child’s progress with grade-level district adopted standards.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
The annual parent/teacher conferences will be held during the first week of December. Children will attend minimum school days, but conferences are for parents only. Parents are assigned one conference date and time. Prior to this date, the child will be given his/her report card, and the parents or guardians will return with it at the time of the conference. Parents should attend the conference to obtain and discuss information concerning their child’s progress in school.
Open House
Open House will occur in the spring and provides an opportunity for parents to visit Robinson classrooms with their children and enjoy the many products of his/her educational experience at the school.
Tuesday Bulletin
Look for an email each Tuesday from the Principal containing a PDF file. The PDF contains the weekly Blue Bulletin, which consists of school information, reminders, and upcoming events. The PDF may also hold a variety of information supplied by the School District, City/Recreation Department, and PTSA notices. Please take time to review the information coming home via this method. To subscribe to the Tuesday Bulletin, visit www.mbusd.org, click on E-Parent, and fill in all the fields and click submit. You should start receiving this important e-mail each week.
If You Have a Concern
If a problem arises concerning your child, please talk it over first with your child’s teacher. If concerns continue, make an appointment. It may be necessary to meet as a team with the principal, teacher, and important support staff. Please do not let a problem go by without immediately informing the staff.
CST Testing
State testing occurs each year in May. These assessments help us monitor student growth on required California state standards.
